A shocking reel has been circulating on social media claiming that a 9-year-old girl from Kaithal district in Haryana became pregnant and gave birth to a baby after being raped by her 11-year-old brother. The viral posts further alleged that the family, especially the mother, protected the boy and denied justice to the girl. These claims caused widespread anger and concern online.
The video being shared shows a young girl with a newborn baby in a hospital and another clip of a woman police officer speaking about a case involving a child. These two clips were combined to create a false story. Fact-checks by news organisations and clarification by Kaithal Police have confirmed that the viral claim is completely false.
The clip of the police officer is not from an investigation. It was recorded during a seminar at NIILM University in Kaithal, where Police Officer Geeta Rani was addressing law students. She was sharing examples from her experience to explain legal and social issues related to crimes against children. Her words were not about any new or live case.
The image of the girl with a baby is also unrelated and wrongly linked to the seminar footage. By combining these visuals, misleading content was spread as breaking news.
Kaithal Police issued a statement confirming that no such case has been reported in Kaithal or anywhere in Haryana. They warned that spreading such rumours creates panic and misunderstanding in society. People are advised to trust only official statements and reliable news sources, and avoid sharing unverified viral content.
