Zomato Deaf Delivery Partners Incentive Policy is Back
Zomato has now removed special incentives for both Deaf and physically disabled delivery partners.
Do you remember ISH News had shared a video about Zomato stopping special benefits for Deaf delivery partners?
Now, there is an important update. We spoke to a Deaf Zomato delivery partner from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Chiranjivi Kumar, to understand what happened.
Earlier, Zomato had two categories of delivery partners receiving special benefits:
PWD (Persons with Disabilities): Delivery partners with physical disabilities received an additional ?80 per delivery, along with incentives and other benefits.
HSI (Hearing and Speech Impaired/Deaf): Deaf delivery partners also received the same ?80 per delivery and other benefits. This policy began in July 2025.
However, in November 2025, Zomato stopped these benefits only for HSI delivery partners, while PWD partners continued receiving them.
A group of Deaf people then filed a case in court. Zomato argued that Deaf delivery partners do not have physical disabilities. The Deaf group responded that they face communication barriers, especially when customers call them, and that the RPWD Act, 2016 requires equal treatment for all disabilities.
The court agreed, and the ?80 benefit for Deaf delivery partners was restored.
However, Zomato has now removed the incentives and extra benefits for both PWD and HSI delivery partners. As a result, both groups are now treated under the same policy.
