Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Why is CBI Asking Facebook and Google for Help?

Rahul Kanal, Yuva Sena leader, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray’s close aide opened up on allegations related to the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput and his manager Disha Salian.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Mumbai Police and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were brought in to investigate various angles in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Salian, who was Rajput’s talent manager, fell to her death from a highrise building on June 8, 2020, days before the actor was found dead in his house. Soon after several conspiracy theories claimed both Salian and Rajput were murdered, with several BJP leaders (then in Opposition) leveling allegations against Aaditya Thackeray and some other Sena leaders. Now Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, in an interview said, the Sushant Singh Rajput case is still underway and that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the case from all angles. Fadnavis also talked about Salian’s case and said that police were still recording statements matter and the probe has not been closed.

Immediately after Fadnavis announced that they are still investigating SSR and Disha Salian’s case, a man named Rahul Kanal joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. Who is Rahul Kanal and why is this important? Kanal was a very close aide to Aditya Thackeray. You all know that there are many rumors Aditya Thackeray was involved in SSR’s suicide and that he had called Rhea Chakraborty 44 times during the CBI NCB investigation. Now that Kanal joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction, people started saying he did it to protect himself from the investigation. Since he was a close aide of Aditya people assumed he must have known a lot of crucial information and must have been involved as well. However, Kanal said, “I have requested CM Eknath Shinde to conduct a detailed investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian’s murder case. If my name crops up then you can whip me with your shoes. I will be ready to leave politics”. Three years after his death, CBI decided to take the investigation overseas by asking two companies in the United States for help in the probe. CBI has sent a notice to both Facebook and Google, the headquarters of which are in the United States.

The Central Bureau of Investigation sent a notice to both Google and Facebook to gain access to the deleted emails and chats of actor Sushant Singh Rajput to gain clarity about the events that led up to the death of the actor. Since this case is already pending, CBI is planning to gather technical evidence so that they can get a final conclusion to the case. As of now, all evidence gathered in the case points to his death being a suicide, as told by the authorities earlier.
