Jamia Millia Students Protest in Delhi

A students protest of the Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi turned violent when police lathi charged and use tear gas. Watch the video for all the details.

The Jamia Millia Islamia is a college in Delhi. Students of the university had organised a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB)  in the area around the university.The protest became very violent, as the police attacked the students using tear gas bombs. They lathi charged the students and there was a lot of chaos in the area.Four buses and more than 100 motorcycles were set on fire.The police said that they did not shoot at the students but there were students in Delhi’s Holy Family Hospital who had bullet injuries. 

The students were protesting outside the university campus. The police ran after them and chased them inside the Jamia college campus. Tear gas bombs were thrown inside a library where students were studying and the police have brutally hit many students who were seriously injured.Many protestors had stopped protesting but still the police have detained 50-100 students of Jamia.It is rumoured that a few students died in the police and many are seriously injured.
