Dipa Karmakar Eyeing to Qualify for 2020 Olympics

Dipa Karmakar was the first female Indian gymnast to win a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She is now going to compete in various gymnastic tournaments in order to qualify for

25 year old Dipa Karmakar was the first female Indian gymnast to win a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014. At the Jakarta Asian Games in August 2018 she badly strained her knee and could not perform well. To qualify for the Olympics, gymnasts have to participate in 8 tournaments. The gymnasts will qualify for the Olympics on the basis of their top three scores.

Dipa will be participating in the Baku World Cup andDoha World cup in the month of March. These are a part of the 8 Olympic Qualifying tournaments. She will not be taking take part in Melbourne World Cup on the 21 February to focus on the World Cups in March.

She is extremely confident that she will qualify for the Olympics.
