Ajith Kumar Shines at Dubai 24H Race
Ajith Kumar overcame a crash to race for another team and helped them secure third place at the Dubai 24H race, winning the Spirit of the Race award for his resilience and sportsmanship.
Ajith Kumar, popularly known as "Thala" by his fans, has added another achievement to his already impressive career. Apart from being one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema, Ajith has also made a name for himself in the world of car racing.
On January 12, 2025, Ajith reached an important milestone at the famous Dubai 24H race, a prestigious car racing event held annually in Dubai. In this race, teams race for 24 hours on the Dubai Autodrome track, with the goal of covering the most distance. Drivers take turns to race because it’s a long and exhausting event that tests both skill and teamwork.
A Setback and a Comeback
Before the race, during a practice session, Ajith faced a major setback. While driving at a speed of 180 km/h, his car crashed into a barrier due to a brake failure. The crash caused severe damage to the car, but fortunately, Ajith was unharmed. His team immediately released a statement confirming that he was safe and in good health.
Unfortunately, the car was too damaged to be used in the race. But instead of giving up, Ajith decided to continue participating in the race. He joined the Razoon team and drove their Porsche Cayman GT4 (number 414), while still supporting his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing, as its owner.
Ajith’s determination to stay in the race and help his team showed his passion for both racing and supporting others.
The Competitive 991 Category
Ajith raced in the 991 category, which is a special group in the Dubai 24H for Porsche 911 Cup cars. These cars are designed for racing and are known for their speed and power.
