10 Reasons Why You Should Not Eat Maggi

Maggi is loved by millions of Indian’s from all age groups, however do you know there are various health risk’s assosiated with maggi?

A 35-year-old woman died after consuming rat poison that she accidentally put in her Maggi on July 20. 

However even though maggi is tasty and delicious, and the company says there is no poison or harmful products, did you know that there are so many harmful chemicals which are like poison for your body? 

No matter how delicious, here are 10 reasons why you should not eat Maggi: 

  1. Maggi is made out of maida. Maida has minimal nutritional value like vitamins, fiber and nutrients. What about oats, Maggi and Maggi atta noodles? Are they healthy? When it is said that Maggi contains oats and atta, it doesn't mean that it is only made up of these ingredients. It means that oats or atta are added to the maida, hence, the overall content of maida in oats and atta noodles is lower than Maggi Masala noodles. It makes digestion difficult and causes obesity. 

  2.  Did you know these uncooked noodles are deep fried? Yes, the noodles are fried in oil and then packaged. It is very high and you all know how bad oil is for our health. 

  3. In one day you are only supposed to have only 1 tablespoon of salt. The sodium levels mentioned on maggi packets is 46% the amount of its daily requirement!Consuming so much salt can cause seizures, coma, muscle twitching, confusion and even death. 

  4. Maggi contains trans fats that are not good fats for the body. Moreover, trans fats take twice as long to be digested. Moreover, trans fats boost bad cholesterol in the body. Excessive consumption of trans fats can cause diabetes, heart conditions and nutritional deficiencies. So why include it at all? Manufacturers love this ingredient as it reduces the cost of the product. If you consume it, though, you’re paying a high price in terms of your health.

  5. Remember the healthier, vegetable version of maggi? It’s a hoax. These veggies are devoid of any nutrition and are dehydrated. Hence, you’re better off not adding these in the first place. Moreover, the process and steps of dehydration are unknown to us. 

  6. HFCS stands for High Fructose Corn Syrup which maggi contains. It is a type of artificial sweetener added to food products. It is extremely bad for your health. 

  7. Maggi contains high amounts of citric acid that increases acidity in the body. This ends up causing acidity and abdominal tract issues among individuals.

  8. Did you consume a bowl of maggi and repeat this practice over the next few days as well? Ever felt like you cannot resist maggi? The high levels of monosodium glutamate or MSG may be responsible for this. It is a known fact that long term effects of lead and even MSG can cause cancer. Eating Maggi containing Lead and MSG daily can increase your risk of cancer. 

  9. The side effects of Maggi also include malnutrition in children as they have not fully developed their immune system. The Lead-in Maggi is dangerous as vitamins don’t absorb in the body due to that. The negative effects of Maggi show slowly on the body as they slowly affect the liver, kidney and heart. This is why Maggi should never be given to children below the age of 5 as their body is still growing. 

  10. Experts say that eating maggi frequently can also cause heart attacks. 

Maggi is delicious. Maggi is yummy. However, it is best to limit your intake of this ultimate snack if you want the best for your own well being. If you’re a mother, preparing maggi as a snack for your children or it isn’t the best idea either. It won’t hurt to try healthier alternatives such as whole wheat noodles or zucchini noodles.
