Taliban Trouble Felt in Jammu & Kashmir

The effects of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan is being felt in J&K in India.

We all are aware that the US Forces have now withdrawn from Afghanistan. The effects of this withdrawal can be felt in Jammu and Kashmir in India. Intelligence agencies say that atleast six groups of terrorists have entered the Kashmir valley with important targets.

Apart from the terrorists already in Jammu and Kashmir, there are 25-30 more who have joined in.

An officer leading the counter terrorism operations in Kashmir Valley said that about 300 terrorists have camped outside the line of control. He said that they are on alert, and are prepared for any incident.

Recently a video emerged of a boy coming back home to Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The boy had gone to help the Taliban in Afghanistan, and had returned home. He was welcomed like a hero in PoK. People are watching these videos, and are getting inspired. They too want to become “victorious warriors”.

Another issue of concern is that around 60 young men have gone missing from their homes in the last few months. This is a matter of grave concern for the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The boys say that they are going to do some or the other work, and then go missing.

Vijay Kumar is the top police officer in Kashmir. He said that they have asked and appealed to all the misguided youth who have joined terror groups, to leave them and come back.

For people who join terrorists group, and then themselves surrender themselves to security forces, and leave terrorism, there is little to no punishment for them. They are also given incentives.

If they dont surrender and are caught, then they have to face punishment.
