Shark Tank’s Aneesh Grover Resigns BharatPe

BharatPe cofounder Ashneer Grover is demanding Rs 4,000 crore from investors to buy out his stake if they want him to exit the company.

BharatPe is an Indian app founded in March 2018. This is an online payment. You all know about PayTm, PhonePe, Google Pay, etc. which we used to transfer money to each other. However BharatPe is not for individuals. It is meant for traders, businessmen, Shopkeepers, etc. BharatPe makes payment acceptance easy. It offers merchants a single QR code to accept all payment apps such as PayTm, PhonePe, Google Pay, BHIM and 150+ other UPI apps. Making money transactions became very easy because of the App and in just 3 years the App became very successful. Now there is a big controversy connected to BharatPe’s Founder & Managing Director Ashneer Grover. It has become a major news because Ashneer became very famous because he was a judge on the TV show “SHARK TANK INDIA” which is a remake of a famous American Show. 

 

In the TV show where young and talented  entrepreneurs are given a chance to pitch their business ideas to 6 SHARKS get investments for their company. Ashneer was one of the Sharks. It all started in February Ashneer Grover Who - founder & Managing Director of the app - was asked to exit the company and his post by the company’s board. According to the Board & investors of BharatPe’ Ashneer was involved in fraud, inappropriate behavior and other wrongdoings. Ashneer currently owns 9.5% of BharatPe. In reply to this, he said, “I founded the company, I am the Managing Director if you think I am not doing my job well, just put my 4000 Crores on the table and you can take the keys”. Also a few days back Madhuri Jain was fired from BharatPe who is also the wife of the app's founder Ashneer Grover. Madhuri during her time in BharatPe was serving as the “HEAD OF CONTROLS.” According to sources Madhuri along with Ashneer used companies funds for personal use like traveling, buying expensive electronic products, expensive skin care etc,

 

The board also said they made fake transactions to vendors who never existed. Now Ashneer decided to resign from his post in BharatPe, He deeply expressed his thoughts in the resignation letter and mentioned how unhappy he is with the investigations held at him by the board which are completely baseless according to him. He continues to hold his 9.5% shares in the company which makes him the company’s largest individual shareholder.
