Rs. 4,432 crore Aid for K’taka, Odisha & Himachal

After massive destruction in the states of Karnataka, Odisha and Himachal Pradesh, the Central Government has given a financial aid of Rs 4,432 crore.

There have been dangerous floods in Karnataka, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala. These floods have caused a lot of destruction in these states. In a statement, a committee headed by Home Minister Amit Shah said that, Rs 4,432 crore financial help has been approved for the states of Odisha, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. An additional help of Rs 3,338.22 crore has been given to Odisha for the damage caused by cyclone Fani. Rs 50,000 will be given to families of the victims who died in the cyclone. There were avalanches and Hail storm in 2018-2019 in Himachal Pradesh. For this the government has given Rs 64.49 crore. No financial help has been given to Kerala yet. 

These funds will be given from the NDRF (National Disaster Response Fund). The additional money given will be from the SDRF. The committee said that, Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) will go and inspect areas, incase there is a natural calamity. IMCT after inspection will decide how many funds to allocate.
