Professor Calls Student ‘Terrorist’ 13 Times in Classroom
A viral classroom video from PES University, Bengaluru shows a professor angrily calling a student a “terrorist,” leading to his suspension and a formal investigation.
On 24 March 2026, a routine lecture at PES University, Bengaluru took an unexpected turn. When student Affan asked to step out briefly, Dr. Muralidhar Deshpande, a part-time professor, erupted in anger.
A student-recorded video shows him calling Affan a “terrorist” repeatedly, making alarming statements like “The Iran war happened because of people like you” and “Trump will take you away,” leaving the class in shock.
The video quickly went viral, sparking outrage. Following formal complaints, the university suspended Dr. Deshpande on 27 March 2026 and launched a detailed investigation.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized that such behavior was unprecedented and promised accountability.
Meanwhile, students claimed that three peers who supported Affan were also reprimanded. The NSUI filed a police complaint, demanding strict action and a public apology.
The professor later apologized to the college, but not directly to Affan.
