PM Modi’s Speech at India Ideas Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a speech at the India Ideas Summit, hosted by the US-India Business Council. This was an online conference in which senior officials from the Government of India and the United States participated. The topic was to discuss the recovery of the economy post the COVID19 pandemic. PM Modi invited US businesses to invest in various economic sectors of India.

Here are the highlights of his speech: 

He said that we all have to work together to make our future better. We need to focus more on human lives. 

All this while businesses were focused on becoming successful and growing. This is very good but we have forgotten to make our business resilient external problems. (like the COVID outbreak). 

During the last six years, India has made many efforts to make positive changes to our economy.  Now Business in India is more ‘Transparent', ‘Digitalization', ‘Innovating' and more ‘Politically stable'.

India is emerging as a land of opportunities. Modi gave an example of the tech sector. Recently, an interesting report came out in India. It said for the first time ever, there are more rural internet users than even urban internet users.

India has done historic reforms in the agriculture sector recently. There are many investment opportunities in the Agriculture sector in India. 

Modi said India invites you to invest in healthcare. The Healthcare sector in India is growing faster than 22 percent every year. 

India invites you to invest in energy. As India is developing, there will be big investment opportunities for US companies. 

In the same way PM Modi said now USA can invest in India in areas such as Infrastructure, Aviation, Defence & Space, Finance, etc. 

PM Modi said that India is a country you can trust and invest in. Investment in India will lead to good returns and there is complete ease of doing business. 

The USA is the best partner for India for this. The US-India friendship has scaled many heights in the past. Now it is time our partnership plays an important role in helping the world bounce back faster after the pandemic.
