Husband Forces Wife To Bathe Naked In Waterfall In Front Of Others
A 30-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws for making her bathe under a waterfall, in front of others so that “she bears a child”.
A 30-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws for allegedly harassing her and making her bathe under a waterfall, in front of others.
The woman got married to a businessman in 2013. But her husband allegedly started harassing her over financial matters soon. The woman stated that her parents had given her gold ornaments and property papers. But her husband sold the gold without her consent and also got a loan of Rs 75 lakh by mortgaging the property in a bank. She said her husband then came in contact with a Tantrik named Maulana Baba Jamadar from Kolhapur. He forcibly took her to the Maulana, who allegedly performed black magic on her, for “profits in the business”. She also alleged that since 2013 she had been harassed for dowry and not giving birth to male child. She further said that the Tantrik, Moulana Baba Jamadar, asked them to perform a ‘pooja’ at their house and offices, as the woman was under the influence of black magic. He then asked the woman's husband to take her to Raigad and then asked her to bathe naked under a waterfall in full public view so that she can "bear a male child".
Following the woman’s complaint, police have arrested four persons, including her husband, father-in-law (64), mother-in-law (62) and the Tantrik. The case has been filed under several sections of the IPC and Domestic Violence Act. They were also booked for fooling a woman using black magic. The case has been registered under 3 laws. Investigation is underway.
