Pune: Old Man Lures 4-year-old, Brutally Assaults & Kills Her
A 4-year-old girl in Pune’s Bhor area was brutally assaulted and murdered, sparking outrage and demands for strict punishment against the accused.
A horrifying crime in Bhor has left the entire state shaken.
A 4-year-old girl, who had come to her grandmother’s home for the holidays, was allegedly lured away on 1st May by 65-year-old labourer Bhimrao Kamble, who promised to show her a calf. When the child went missing, her family and villagers launched a desperate search.
CCTV footage later showed Kamble taking the girl towards a cattle shed. Hours later, her body was discovered hidden under cow dung inside the shed. She had suffered sexual assault, severe injuries, and was allegedly killed after being crushed with a stone. She was declared dead at the hospital.
Police quickly tracked Kamble using CCTV evidence and arrested him near a river in the village. Investigations revealed that he had faced earlier molestation allegations in 1998 and 2015 but had remained free.
The incident sparked massive outrage across Pune district, with protests, road blockades, and emotional scenes outside the police station. Even the girl’s funeral was conducted under heavy security.
A special police team has now been formed, forensic evidence has been sent for analysis, and officials say the case will be fast-tracked in a special court. Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state government will seek the death penalty.
The victim’s father said he wants justice before any politician visits the family, while even the accused’s wife and son publicly condemned him and demanded the harshest punishment for his actions.
