Dog Leash Humiliation: Mob Breaks Into Woman’s House, Assaults Man in Haridwar
A Muslim man was allegedly assaulted and publicly humiliated in Haridwar, and police are investigating the viral incident.
A shocking incident has been reported from the Kankhal area of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, where a group of 10 to 12 men allegedly entered a woman's house and assaulted a Muslim man who had come to visit her.
According to the woman's police complaint, she has known the man for about five years and had invited him to her house. She alleged that the group forced their way inside, beat the man, abused both of them, and threatened to kill him when she tried to stop the attack.
Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. They allegedly show the injured man sitting outside the house with a dog leash tied around his neck. In one video, people can be heard questioning him about visiting a Hindu woman. Reports say he was publicly humiliated for nearly three hours before the police arrived.
The victim, identified as 30-year-old Shadab from Karnal, Haryana, works at a manufacturing company in Uttarakhand. The woman's sister said he had been visiting their family for several years.
After receiving information, police reached the spot, rescued the injured man, and took him to the hospital for treatment. The woman also alleged that the attackers took his mobile phone and other belongings.
Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including assault, rioting, house trespass, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
The incident took place on 18 July, but it has come into the spotlight now because the videos have gone viral. Many people are questioning why the accused have not yet been arrested, while police say they are trying to identify those involved.
