In this fast moving life of the 21st Century, Aeroplanes & Airlines have in a way become a part of our lives. Aircrafts are widely used as the fastest  mode of transportation from one part to the other. However recently a shocking incident has come into public view after the staff of Indigo Airline has allegedly mistreated a family and stopped them from boarding the flight, comparing their disabled kid with a “drunken man”. A social media post on Sunday, 8th of May went viral on social media which claimed that the staff of IndiGo airlines stopped a child with special needs from boarding a plane along with his parents at the Ranchi airport on Saturday, 7th of May. The Indigo staff at the Ranchi Airport has announced that the child would not be allowed to take the flight as according to him  he was a risk to other passengers and he would have to become ‘normal’ before he could travel on the flight. This is not all, the staff further compared the specially abled child's condition with a drunken man, who can cause threat to other passengers. According to the post which went viral on social media, there was a debate following the announcement as other passengers travelling with the same flight said that they did not have any problem with the child and his parents travelling along with them.

Also, there were doctors present among the passengers who asked the airport staff to consult the airport doctor and they also ensured that they can provide medical assistance to the children during the flight in case it is required . The IndiGo manager kept shouting and telling everyone that the "child is uncontrollable". One of the passengers replied, "The only person who is in panic is you.” There was also a government official who came out from the crowd of the passengers and said that the child has the right to travel. Passengers showed the manager news articles, Twitter posts on Supreme Court judgments on how no airline could discriminate against passengers with disabilities on their phones. One of the passengers said that in those 45 minutes of argument, temper, and rage the family had not once raised their voice or spoken one irrational word. However, despite the co-passengers' support to the family, the social media post added that the three of them (the father, mother & the child) were finally not allowed to travel.

After the post went viral on social media, And Indigo started getting alot of criticism by the internet users, The airline finally issued a statement in which it said the child was in a state of panic and the ground staff waited for him to calm down but till the last moment he had not calmed down. However, The airline claimed that it made the family comfortable by providing them a hotel stay and the family flew the next morning to their destination. In their statement, Indigo airline also mentioned that 75k specially-abled passengers fly with IndiGo every month. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, “There is zero tolerance towards such behaviour. No human being should have to go through this! Investigating the matter by myself, post which appropriate action will be taken,"

Although the issue was smartly settled by the airline later, do you think if the post would have not gone viral, The Airline would have taken similar steps?
