Now, there's a major update related to this issue. India shares a long border of over 4000 km with Bangladesh, and many Bangladeshi people illegally cross this border and start living in India. To deal with this problem, the Delhi Police recently launched an operation called "Operation All-Out."
Under this operation, the police raided several locations in Delhi and found many Bangladeshi nationals living there illegally. The police arrested a gang of 5 people and 6 others who helped these Bangladeshis enter India illegally. This gang was also involved in making fake documents like Aadhaar Cards, PAN Cards, and Voter IDs for these illegal immigrants. They even helped them find jobs and settle in India.
This illegal operation was run from a computer center in Delhi’s Rohini Sector-5 by Rajat Mishra and Sahil Sehgal. They used a fake website called “Janata Prints” to make these fake documents, charging ?15,000 for each.
Here’s how the illegal process worked:
The gang helped Bangladeshis cross into India through forest areas along the border or on express trains. Once in Delhi, they changed the immigrants' names and created fake documents using these new names.
So, how did the Delhi Police find out about this scam? The police were investigating the murder of a man named Seton Sheikh. During their investigation, they learned that Sheikh was killed over a financial dispute related to the fake document business. Sheikh had also changed his name to "Raja." This clue led the police to uncover the scam.
The police arrested 5 people, and during their investigation, they discovered the gang's original Bangladeshi documents. The police also recovered 4 fake voter cards, 21 Aadhaar cards, and 6 PAN cards. The police say the gang had been operating since 2021 and had helped around 1000 illegal Bangladeshis settle in India.
This issue has also sparked political blame. The BJP has accused AAP and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of being involved in the illegal immigration of Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals through an organized network. On the other hand, AAP leaders are blaming BJP, saying that the Delhi Police and Border Security Force work under their control.
Regardless of political fights, this is a serious national security threat that needs urgent attention. Some reports suggest that around 1.5 crore Bangladeshis have entered India over the years, making it very difficult to track such a large number of people.
We will have to wait and see what actions the government takes in the coming days to address this growing issue.
