Deaf Muslim Man Takes Care of Hindu Temple

A Deaf man caring for a Hindu temple on Kashmir has gone viral on social media.

India is a country having many different religions, cultures, languages etc. Being so diverse there are always problems and tiffs going on between different communities. In between these issues there is a story of the deaf man from Kashmir who is a symbol of brotherhood and unity among people of different religions. Are you interested in knowing this deaf person’s inspiring story? Then keep watching. In the Nishat area located at the foothills of the Zabarwan hills, Kashmir there is a Gopi Tirath Temple. As per the locals, the temple was lying in a dilapidated condition for a long time. It was finally renovated by the Samajik Vikas Sanstha in 2014 after which the local Muslims living in the area started to take care of the temple. The temple is currently being taken care of by the Ishwar Ashram Trust. You will be surprised to know that the caretaker of the temple is a 34 year old Deaf Muslim man named Nisar Ahmad Alaie. Nisar has been working as the caretaker of Gopi Tirath Temple since the last 7 months for a salary of 8,000/- per month which is paid by the Ishwar Ashram Trust. 

 

Before him his father worked as the caretaker for 6 years. After his father passed away, his neighbors started taking care of the temple. Later, Nisar was given the charge of taking care of the temple. The locals said he is doing it with utmost dedication. They said that the temple is a symbol of brotherhood. Apart from ensuring cleanliness and the up-keep of the temple, Nisar is also carrying out the gardening in the available land of the temple. He produces vegetables and other stuff which he not only keeps for his family but also supplies to the Hindu families living in nearby areas. Nisar has expressed satisfaction over his work and the salary he gets from the Trust and is determined to continue the work. He-through a translator-said that Muslims have taken care of the temple for the last 10 years and will continue to do so.
