Condoms, Alcohol, Cigarettes Found in Bags of Students

After a surprise bag check, condoms, oral contraceptives, lighters, cigarettes, and alcohol were found in the school bags of Class 8th, 9th, and 10th students in Bangalore

Condoms, oral contraceptives, lighters, cigarettes, and alcohol in school bags of Class 8th, 9th, and 10th students. This statement itself feels too hard to believe, right? But this shocking incident is reported in Bengaluru where after a surprise bag check, students were found carrying bizarre things like alcohol, condoms, and contraceptives. The surprise bag check was conducted in various schools across the city upon orders by the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary School in Karnataka (KAMS). KAMS general secretary D Shashi Kumar said that over the past few days, the authorities were noticing students harassing teachers and classmates and using foul language, bullying, and making obscene gestures. Such gestures were even seen in class 5 students, after which this surprise bag checking was ordered.

Also, there were complaints of some students bringing mobile phones to school. However, after the bag check was conducted, it seems like mobile phones were just the tip of the iceberg. On being asked, students blamed their friends for doing this mischief. Many schools conducted parent-teacher meetings to inform the parents about this ongoing mis-happening. Schools have now decided to conduct counselling sessions for the students. Students will not be suspended and the schools would be conducting counselling sessions for them to help them. Several school principals said that mobile phones were expected to be found, but this incident was totally unexpected. What do you think about this? Don’t you think schools and parents should have a regular check on their children's behaviour and the things they do or browse on the internet? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
