After a lot of arguments by the Member of Parliaments, Yesterday at 12:00am midnight, the Lok Sabha passed the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). The Bill received 311 votes in favor and 80 against. He said there is no political agenda and said the Bill doesn't discriminate "even .001% against minorities in the country,"The CAB gives Indian citizenship to non-Muslims such as, Hindus, Jains, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis—immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan after seven years of residence in India.

Many MPs wanted to remove the word Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan from the CAB law. They said they want the law to be neutral and not about Muslims or any religion. But the CAB law was passed with Majority votes. But Amit Shah was very firm. He said that there is a difference between refugees who leave their country because of religious persecution and people who try to enter India to cause problems and terrorism. Many have said that CAB does not give equal rights.

The North-East has protested against the Bill as they fear that if many foreign immigrants came to North-east it would reduce its ethnic identity. This is why AMit Shah said states like  Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland will not be included in the Law. The CAB Law will now be presented in the  . But BJP has support of most of the MPs and the law will be passed easily.
