Bihar Announces Rs 360 Crore Relief for Flood Victims

Chief Minister Nitish Kumaron Tuesday announced in the state assembly that Bihar will give a total of Rs 360 crore to 6 lakh families affected by the disastrous floods.

In Bihar out of 33 districts 12 are flooded.  25 lakh people have been affected by the floods. Till now 33 people have died due to the floods. Katihar and Madhubani districts were flooded yesterday. 116,000 people are living in 221 relief camps.  The five rivers— Baghmati, Kamla Balan, Lalbakeya, Adhwara and Mahananda — are flowing above danger levels at various places due to continuous rainfall.These lakes originate from Nepal where it has been raining non stop. This is why the rivers are overflowing. 

Chief Minister Nitish Kumaron Tuesday announced in the state assembly that Bihar will give a total of Rs 360 crore to 6 lakh families. Rs 6,000 will be given per family to all the victims of the floods. This money will be transferred from 19th July. The CM also said that in North Bihar there may be a drought. In 2018, 24 districts in Bihar faced drought.
