Nurse in UP Demands ?5,100 to Hand Over Newborn Baby, Resulting in Baby’s Death:
In a tragic incident from Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, a family lost their newborn baby after a nurse demanded ?5,100 to hand over the baby to his family. Sujit Kumar and his wife Sanjali, residents of Karhal town, welcomed a healthy baby boy on 19th September 2024 at Karhal’s CHC hospital. However, the nurse, Jyoti, refused to give the baby to the family until they paid her the money.
The family pleaded with the nurse but could not pay her immediately. Jyoti allegedly placed the baby on a table, and after a delay of 40 minutes, the baby’s health worsened. Though the baby was shifted to Saifai Medical College, he could not survive. The doctors said the baby did not receive proper care after birth, leading to his death.
Sujit has filed a complaint, and the Chief Medical Officer has formed a committee to investigate the matter while Nurse Jyoti has been transferred to ensure a fair inquiry.
Karnataka Hospital Hands Over Dead Baby Boy After Telling Parents They Had a Girl:
In another incident from Koppal town in Karnataka, a couple was told that they had given birth to a baby girl, only to be handed over the dead body of a baby boy a few days later. Gauri, the mother, gave birth to a premature baby at The Mother & Child Hospital on 25th September 2024. Throughout the stay, the hospital staff kept referring to the baby as a girl and did not show the baby’s face properly to the mother.
When the baby passed away, the couple was shocked to receive the dead body of a baby boy. The couple requested a DNA test to clear the confusion, which the hospital has agreed to. This hospital has been in the news before for mysterious deaths and suspected cases of newborns being switched.
Pune Woman Dies After Forced Home Abortion:
In Pune, a 24-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being forced into an illegal home abortion by her in-laws. The woman, who already had two children, became pregnant for the third time in June 2024. On 22nd September 2024, her in-laws allegedly called a private doctor to perform the abortion at home.
The woman suffered heavy bleeding and was rushed to the hospital the next day but passed away on the way. It is suspected that the family forced the abortion after learning that the woman was pregnant with a girl. The police have arrested her husband and in-laws and are investigating the illegal doctor involved.
These incidents highlight the serious issues in healthcare and the misuse of power, leading to the loss of innocent lives. The authorities are investigating these matters, and we hope justice will be served soon.
