The purpose of a passport is to show other nations that you are a legal citizen of your particular country of origin. A person will have to present their passport several times at the airport if they are flying or at the border if they are travelling by car. A passport is one thing that a person needs to travel to another country. This is the most important document for entering any country and without a passport, a person cannot travel from country to country. A Passport is an official document on which the details of a person’s citizenship are written. Without the document, no country would allow you to enter.

But do you know there are some weird amazing facts related to passports that you probably don't know, and here is the list of such amazing facts related to passports:

1) Having a face tattoo will require a new passport:

If you have had a face tattoo or  face surgery, you will need a new passport. A person will have to do this if they had a plain face at the time of getting a passport, and they later decide to have a tattoo on the face or any surgery which might change the overall appearance of the face.

2) Passport photos cannot be photographed wearing a uniform:

Wearing a uniform, hats, caps and sunglasses are not allowed. Your hair cannot cover your face while you are getting a passport. A person's face and head need to be completely visible with no such accessory like a face mask, hat, cap, sunglasses which might partially or fully cover the face or hair.

3) It is possible to get a world passport:

World passports are possible to get and they are issued by the World Service Authority, which is a DC-based nonprofit that promotes world citizenship. These have been accepted as travel documents by a few countries around the world, including Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Mauritania, Tanzania, Togo and Zambia. In simpler words these are passports which are not assigned by any specific nation or country like England, India, Canada, USA etc, it is assigned by a different organization which does not belong to any particular country.

4) Passports have been used since the 13th century:

Passports have been in use since the 13th century.King Henry V introduced this concept, to make it easier to prove his nationality and identity when traveling to foreign lands. Yes the fact might surprise you a bit but the concept of passport is not new, it is in existence from more then 700 years now, also the word “Passport” has also been mentioned in the religious text of Christians ”The Holy Bible”

5) Queen Elizabeth ll does not have a passport:

Queen Elizabeth ll is the only person in the world who does not need a passport to travel the world. However, they have some of their own documents which are considered similar to passports. Since passports in Britain are issued under the name of the queen, it is considered that the queen herself does not require a passport, however other people in her family do not have this privilege and only the queen is allowed to travel across the world without having a passport.

6) The UAE passport is the strongest:

According to the Passport Index 2020, a person who holds a UAE passport can travel to 179 countries without a visa, and that is the highest in the world. However Indian passport stands on the 83rd Position, where you can visit 63 Countries without a Visa carrying the Indian passport 

7) Passport after death:

Ramesses ll received the passport when he died. The mummy of Ramses ll was transported from France in the 70s. Then he got an Egyptian passport, just so that the dead body can travel across the country which ultimately became a very weird fact related to passports.
8) UK passports used to have family photographs:

In Britain, in 1915, there were family photographs allowed on the passport. As long as the faces of all the members were clearly visible, their poses did not matter. One can have his/ her entire family in the passport until the face is clearly visible.

9)  Red is a passport favorite:

Out of the four passport colors available; black, blue, red, and green, red seems to be the most popular color. There are countries that use different shades of red but they are essentially the majority! Funnily enough, the UK's nickname for their passports is “Red Book”.
