Air Fare Skyrockets as Planes Are Grounded

Indian Airlines such as Jet Airways, SpiceJet, Indigo and Go Air have grounded many of their aircrafts. This has lead to sharp increase in the price for air tickets. If the situation does not change,

Jet Airways, SpiceJet, Indigo and Go Air for different reasons have grounded many of their aircrafts. More than 50 Jet Airways aircrafts were grounded due to their financial troubles. Thw Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts of SpiceJet have been grounded for safety reasons because of the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash. 4 aircrafts of Go Air have been grounded because of maintenance work. Two aircrafts of Indigo have been grounded due to shortage of pilots and maintenance work.

More than 500 flights have been cancelled in India as well as abroad. 34 International Flights flying into Mumbai which were the Boeing 737 Max 8 were cancelled as well. This is the reason why there is an increase in the airfare, which has troubled the passengers a lot. Many passengers are complaining that Airlines cancel the flights without informing the passengers.

Many travel agents say that because of the cancellation and grounding of flights the cost of the tickets for Domestic and International tickets has increased by 40-50%. The cost of the tickets are increasing because the supply of flights is less and the demand is very high. The cost of one return ticket from Delhi to Kathmandu used to be Rs 14,000.
