The Do’s & Don’ts of Wearing Contact Lenses

Here are the dos, and don’ts of wearing contact lenses. Follow these tips to ensure a safe and positive contact lens-wearing experience.

In that video, we also discussed the rare yet potentially serious and scary problems that can be caused by wearing contact lenses. We promised to release a video on the things you must do and must never do while wearing contact lenses. Well, this is that video. Today I will tell you the dos and don’ts of wearing contact lenses.

Dos:

1. Wash Hands: Always wash hands thoroughly before wearing or removing contact lenses.

2. Rinse Lenses: Always rinse the lenses with a contact lens solution after removing them from your eyes.

3. Change Solution: Change the contact solution daily even when you aren’t using them.

4. Makeup Application: Wear contact lenses before applying makeup and remove them only after removing makeup.

5. Weekly Wash: Wash your contact lenses with warm water once every week.

6. Replace Lenses: Replace your contact lenses with a fresh pair every 3 months.

7. Carry Glasses: Always carry a pair of your glasses even while wearing contact lenses.

8. Regular Eye Check-up: Get your eyes checked every year.

Don’ts:

1. No Sleeping: Never sleep while wearing contact lenses.

2. Avoid Playing: Don't play with your contact lenses.

3. No Mouth Cleaning: Don’t put them in your mouth or spit on them to clean them.

4. Clean Hands: Don’t touch your lenses with cream hands, greasy hands, or makeup hands. Don’t let anyone else touch your contact lenses.

5. No Glitter or Eyeliner: Never apply glitter or eyeliner on the inside rim of the eyes after wearing lenses.

6. Limit Wear Time: Don’t over-wear your contact lenses.

7. Irritation Check: Don’t wear contact lenses when the eyes feel irritated or appear red.

8. Avoid Fashion Use: Don’t wear contact lenses for fashion, trend, or fun purposes.
