5 Simple Recipes to Try in Paryushan

Paryushan offers Jain-friendly recipes like dosa, cream cheese, pav bhaji, chipotle sauce, and poha cutlets, all within dietary guidelines.

Now Paryushan is going on and people start fasting, keep ekashna or do choviyar. You all think that in paryushan we cannot eat varieties just have to eat the same and boring food but no you can eat yummy and new items during paryushan. Let me tell you some recipes.

1. Dosa

People love Dosa but in paryushan you cannot soak rice the previous night you have to do it on that only. So here is a 20 min recipe. 

  • Take 2 cups of rice flour then mix 1 cup water then slowly another 1 cup. 

  • Add salt 

  • Cumin powder

  • Mix it properly and it should be liquid. 

  • Rest it for 15 min

  • Slowly slowly put 1 cup of water consistency should be very thin.

  • Put dosa batter in pan, put ghee and roast 

  • Tan tana your easy dosa yummy recipe is ready.

2. Cream cheese

  • Boil a milk 

  • Add 1 tbsp salt

  • Add curd or Fatakdi (Alum)

  • Strain it but dont remove lot of water

  • Put paneer and hung curd into grinder

  • Add salt

  • Grind it and your cream cheese is ready

You can eat this with anything like roti or khakhra, etc.

3. Pav bhaji

  • Take 400gm dry peas wash it and soak it for 4 hrs

  • After soaking put peas and water into the cooker 

  • Add salt

  • Cook for 7 to 8 whistles

  • Mash it once it is soft

  • Add grinded 50gm paneer

  • Mash it

  • Take a curd in bowl and make it smooth

  • Take a 3 tbsp ghee in a pan 

  • Add cumin seeds, hing, turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin seed powder, jain pav bhaji masala , curd and a little bit of water, salt and mix it.

  • Add peas with paneer

  • Mash it properly. Let it cook for 2 min and yummy pav bhaji is ready.

You can eat this with roti, khakra , or paratha. Trust me with paratha its very yummy.

4. Chipotle sauce

  • Add 1 cup homemade paneer

  • Add ¼ cup hung curd

  • Add 5 to 6 dry red chillies

  • Add salt

  • Add black pepper powder

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • ¼ tsp black salt

  • Grind it a smooth paste

You can eat this with diff types of khakra or roti, etc.

5.  Poha cutlet

  • Take 1 cup of poha wash it and soak it for 15min

  • Add 2 tbsp of curd

  • Add roasted peanuts

  • Add salt, Red chilli powder, Coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, chaat masala, sugar (optional)

  • Mash them properly and make cutlet

  • Fry it and enjoy
