A Class 10 student in Ahmedabad was stabbed to death by his junior after a school fight. Protests erupted as parents accused the school of negligence and demanded justice.
A shocking incident took place in Ahmedabad when a Class 10 student, Nayan Santani, of Seventh-Day Adventist Higher Secondary School, was stabbed to death by his junior from Class 8 after an argument on 19th August 2025.
As the school bell rang, Nayan stepped out of the building when the Class 8 boy, along with others, surrounded him. A verbal fight turned violent, and the junior stabbed Nayan with a knife. CCTV footage showed Nayan entering the school with his hand on his stomach, covering the wound. He was rushed to a private hospital in Maninagar, but died of his injuries.
The accused, identified on social media as Musef, fled after the incident. A police probe revealed a chilling chat where the accused admitted to the stabbing, saying, “Whatever happened has happened now.”
The case was first registered as attempted murder but later upgraded to murder. The accused was arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act, and another juvenile was detained for questioning. The case was handed to the crime branch.
Parents and locals protested, vandalizing the school and alleging negligence. They claimed Nayan bled for 15 minutes without medical help and was taken to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw. Allegations of washing the crime scene and repeated complaints about student misconduct also surfaced.
District Education Officer Rohit Chaudhary noted serious negligence by the school, and classes were shifted online. Education Minister Prafulbhai Panseriya expressed condolences, urged peace, and assured justice.
