In a shocking case in Gaya in Bihar, a woman admitted to the coronavirus isolation ward at a medical college, was sexually assaulted by a doctor for two days. A migrant worker was 2-months pregnant when she had an abortion. She had returned home to her in-laws house in Gaya, Bihar from her mother’s house in Ludhiana. 

When she reached Gaya she started bleeding a lot and was rushed to the Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH). 

At the hospital she suspected to be COVID-19 positive. She was in the hospital for two days on 2nd & 3rd April. She was then discharged from the hospital when she tested negative for COVID-19. When she came back home she did not talk to anyone and was very afraid.When her family questioned her she revealed she was sexually assaulted for two days in the isolation ward. She died on 6th April. 

The police asked the mother-in-law to come to the hospital and identify the doctor. However, the doctor was not identified. Dr VK Prasad, the hospital superintendent said that this is a serious matter. He said the CCTV footage will be dug out and strict action will be taken against the culprit.
