Will Nirav Modi Be Brought Back to India Soon?

Here is the list of five alternatives of plastic bags which you can use and ensure the safety of our environment.

Nirav Modi, the diamond businessman from Gujarat who ran away from India after allegedly cheating PNB bank of over Rs 11,000 crore, may be brought back to India from the UK. Modi, who is now around 51 years old, had appealed against being sent back to India to face trial in the massive fraud case. However, he lost the appeal in the London High Court yesterday on 9th November.  Lord Justice Jeremy Stuart-Smith and Justice Robert Jay delivered the verdict that allowed the businessman's extradition (bringing him back) to India. Although, the process of bringing Modi from London to Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail still has some way to go. Even after getting a decision against him in the high court, Modi can approach the Supreme Court in the UK against the High Court's order within 14 days. But there's a catch - he can appeal in the Supreme Court only if the high court agrees that his case involves a point of law of general public importance,  something similar to what is called as the PIL in India. Moreover, Nirav Modi is free to approach the European Court of Human Rights.

His legal team hasn't said what they plan to do next after yesterday’s setback. In the meantime, the fugitive businessman will remain at the London jail where he was first kept after he was arrested in March 2019.

Modi is wanted by both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). What do you think about this latest development in the Nirav Modi case? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
