Thailand: Lover Killed in Grenade Blast
In Thailand’s Tha Chana district, a man died after a grenade he threw at his ex-girlfriend’s house exploded in his hand. The incident injured four others.
In the quiet Tha Chana district of Thailand, a sad and shocking incident happened on 25 May 2025. A 35-year-old man named Surapong Thongnak went to his ex-girlfriend’s house to speak with her and try to fix their broken relationship.
But when she said no, Surapong became angry. First, he tried to attack her with a pair of scissors, but people nearby stopped him in time. After that, he ran to his car and brought out a grenade.
He threw the grenade at the house, but it didn’t explode. When he tried to throw it again, the grenade blasted in his own hand, and he died on the spot. His ex-girlfriend was safe, but four other people nearby got injured and were taken to Tha Chana Hospital.
When the police checked his car, they found 500 grams of methamphetamine (a strong and dangerous drug). They also found out that Surapong had a past drug case from five years ago.
In Thailand, methamphetamine is illegal, and the law is very strict. Anyone caught with it can face long jail time, heavy fines, or even the death penalty because many serious crimes happen due to drugs.
This heartbreaking case has shocked the local people. It shows how anger and wrong decisions can turn love into something very dangerous.
