Police also disclosed that a case of rape has been registered against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376 (rape), the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Goa Children’s Act, 2003.

¯Recently, in another similar incident, a married woman from Odisha's Balasore district accused her husband and in-laws of forcing her to keep sexual relations with a ‘tantrik’ under the name of solving her marital problems. According to an India Today report, the matter came to light after the woman lodged a complaint at Jaleshwar Police station against the tantrik, her husband, his parents and younger brother. With several such incidents, which are being reported around the country it can be clearly seen that faith and people’s emotions are widely used to fulfill their criminal wishes.
