Saroj Khan, Bollywood Choreographer Passes Away

Ace choreographer Saroj Khan has passed away due to a cardiac arrest.

Today morning (3rd July) Famous Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan complained that she could not breathe properly. She has been in Mumbai’s Guru Nanak Hospital since 17th June.  She had tested negative for COVID-19. Today morning at 2:30 am she passed away due to cardiac arrest. She was 71 years old. 

Saroj Khan was fondly called as ‘Masterji’ by Bollywood stars whom she choreographed. She has had a very long career in the film industry and has directed more than 2,000 songs. Her most famous collaborations were with actors Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. Following the news of her death, many Bollywood celebrities posted condolences on social media. 

She was born in 1948 and started her career as a child artiste at the age of 3. She gradually became a back-up dancer and then a choreographer. Her famous works have been in movies such as Mr India, Chandni, Tehzaab, etc. She has won 3 National Awards for Best Choreography. Saroj Khan is survived by her husband, son and two daughters.
