Raj Questioned By the ED For 8.5 hrs
The ED had summoned Raj and questioned Raj Thackeray for more than 8.5 hours. The MNS has claimed this to be a political vendetta aimed at eliminating the BJP’s oppositions.
On 22nd August 2019, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had ordered Raj Thackeray to come for a meeting to discuss the loan given by IL&FS to Kohinoor CTNL. IL&FS had given a loan of Rs 635 crore to Kohinoor CTNL. Out of this money Kohinoor CTNL had diverted Rs 80 crore to Matoshree Infrastructure. This company was owned by Raj Thackeray. The ED on thursday, questioned Raj for more than 8.5 hours at the ED’s Ballard Estate Office in Mumbai.
During the questioning, the Mumbai police had imposed Section 144 outside the ED’s office in Ballard Estate and in Dadar. According to the law, a large group of people would not be allowed to gather outside these places.The Mumbai police imposed the law so that MNS workers would not gather and make trouble. When he returned home he told the media that, no matter how many investigations he will continue to say what he wants. He said that this was a political vendetta by the Modi government as MNS has always been against the Modi government.
