The other two were by former president Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan in June 1963 and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November 2009. Mr. Modi, who is making his sixth visit to the U.S. as Prime Minister, this was his first official state visit. The visit indicates the deepening ties between the two nations in multiple fields.
