Amazon India have announced their partnership with the Indian travel website Cleartrip. They intend to start selling tickets for domestic flights through Amazon Pay.
Amazon India have announced their partnership with an Indian travel website Cleartrip to start selling tickets for domestic flights through there Amazon App and website using Amazon Pay. Currently the service is only available in India and they have no plans to expand to other countries.
Shariq Plasticwala, Director for Amazon Pay has said he is very excited for customers to use Amazon for more than shopping. Using the Amazon App for booking domestic flights gives more value to the brand and to all their Amazon Prime members. As an introductory offer Amazon is giving a cash back for every ticket being bought and even more returns if you are an Amazon Prime member.
India is one of the biggest markets for Amazon in the world just below the US, with nearly 600 Million people already online and 800 Million more potential customers. Many tech companies are taking advantage of the market opportunities and want to make their product the most used.
