Noida: Man Fined for Driving Car without a Helmet

In an eccentric incident, a UP journalist was fined for not wearing a helmet while driving his car and is now struggling to revoke the uncommitted violation. Watch this video to learn how!

In a strange incident that highlights the challenges of digital traffic systems, a journalist from Uttar Pradesh, Tushar Saxena, has found himself in a difficult situation. Nine months ago, Tushar, who lives in Noida’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district, received a fine of ?1,000 from the traffic police. The reason? He was allegedly not wearing a helmet while driving his car.

At first, Tushar thought the challan was a mistake or even a scam, so he ignored it. But the messages and emails from the police kept coming. Tushar, confused by the situation, said, "If you are violating traffic rules, then it is common to receive a fine, but that is not my case. I have never driven my car to the NCR area. And if there's any rule that says we have to wear a helmet inside a car, then the authorities must give this to me in writing."

Tushar contacted the Noida traffic police to inform them of the error, asking them to investigate the situation. However, the traffic police insisted that he pay the fine and even warned him that he might have to appear in court if he refused. The unresolved violation has now escalated and has been registered as a case in the Noida Lok Adalat.

Tushar is currently fighting hard to have the case dismissed, as he believes the fine is unfair and based on a mistake. His story highlights how digital systems, while efficient, can sometimes lead to unusual situations when errors occur.
