Minor Bangladeshi Girl Raped by 200 Men
A 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl was rescued from a brutal trafficking network in Naigaon after enduring abuse by over 200 men across India. 10 suspects have been arrested.
In a harrowing case of cross-border human trafficking, a 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl was rescued on July 26, 2025, from a flat in Naigaon, Maharashtra, by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar Police, in collaboration with Exodus Road India and Harmony Foundation. The minor had reportedly been sexually assaulted by over 200 men across three months after being trafficked through illegal routes from Bangladesh.
The girl had fled her home fearing punishment after failing an exam and was lured by traffickers some known to her who promised a better life in India. She was moved through Gujarat, Mumbai, Pune, and finally Naigaon, kept in rented flats, and subjected to repeated abuse.
The rescue operation saved five girls, three of whom were Bangladeshi nationals. All were found in fragile physical and mental states and are now receiving medical care, counseling, and legal support. Ten individuals have been arrested, including key traffickers and local agents. Charges include violations under the POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice Act, Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
NGOs are working to ensure justice and long-term rehabilitation for the survivors. The case highlights the urgent need for stronger cross-border child protection, faster intervention, and public vigilance. One anonymous tip led to the rescue. How many more remain hidden?
