Kannada Actor Arjun Gowda Becomes Ambulance Driver

Kannada actor Arjun Gowda has partnered with NGO Project Smile Trust and volunteered to be an ambulance driver to ferry Covid-19 patients.

India is grappling with the second wave of the Covid-19. But sometime back many famous celebrities travelled to international destinations and shamelessly showed that off. People mocked them on social media. But now there are also many celebrities who are lending a helping hand during the pandemic. Kannada actor Arjun Gowda has partnered with NGO Project Smile Trust. He has volunteered to be an ambulance driver. The number of cases in Karnataka are rising. There is an acute shortage of ambulances. Arjun Gowda helps carry patients and he is also helping people carry out the last rites of their family members. Arjun Gowda said that I am driving the ambulance for a few days and helped a few people for final rites. We want to help out anyone in need irrespective of where they come from or what religion they practice." He is planning to do this work for the next 2-3 months. He is also taking all the necessary precautions to keep himself safe. Social media users appreciated his initiative. Many commented on how they were proud of the actor.  Some fans even called him an inspiration. There are other film personalities who are also helping during the pandemic. 
 

Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas have set up a fundraiser (collecting funds) with GiveIndia for India. They have also donated money to it. The donated money will be used for covid care centers, oxygen, vaccine, etc. Actor Suniel Shetty is involved with  #KVNFoundation, to provide free oxygen concentrators. Akshay Kumar  and his wife Twinkle Khanna have donated 100 oxygen concentrators to an organization. Salman Khan arranged a food truck that drove across Mumbai, offering meals to healthcare workers and police. The initiative feeds over 5,000 people daily. Ajay Devgn has approached Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and provided Rs. 1 crore to install a 20-bed COVID-19 ICU.
