Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India accusing Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court of conspiring against his state government.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy wrote an 8 page letter to the Chief Justice of India Sharad Arvind Bobde, in which he has accused Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court of conspiring against his state government. Copies of the letter were distributed to the media by CM's Principal Advisor, Ajeya Kallam at a press conference. In the letter, Reddy claimed Justice Ramana, and other Andhra Pradesh High Court judges influenced court cases and passed judgments in favor of the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP). CM Reddy said that the high court is doing this to destabilize and overthrow the current elected government. Reddy gave examples of cases as well. He said in the case which was investigating the corruption of former CM Chandrababu Naidu, the HC passed favourable judgements in support of Naidu.
There was another case about a land issue in Amravati. The HC issued a Gag order on the media. In the letter Reddy has also given information about the transactions of land involving two daughters of Justice Ramana and others in Amaravati. Reddy said these transactions were done illegally and there is a big scam. Reddy has asked CJI Bobde to take action on this to ensure that the Andhra Pradesh HC is fair and neutral and to make sure it does not support any political party. Reddy had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on 6th October. It was said that the leaders discussed various issues in Andhra Pradesh.
