Iran Launches Drone Attack on Kuwait: 1 Indian Dead, 63 Injured
A drone attack on Kuwait International Airport killed one Indian national, injured 63 people, damaged Terminal 1, and led to a temporary suspension of airport operations amid Iran-related allegations.
A major drone attack struck Kuwait International Airport on 3 June 2026, turning a busy travel hub into a scene of panic and destruction.
Drones hit Terminal 1, sending thick black smoke into the sky as passengers and airport staff rushed to safety. According to Kuwaiti authorities, one person was killed and 63 others were injured, several of them seriously.
The victim was an Indian national, confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, which expressed condolences and said it is assisting the family.
Emergency teams deployed 25 ambulances to transport the injured, while airport operations were temporarily suspended.
Kuwait blamed Iran for the attack, calling it a "brutal aggression" that caused loss of life and extensive damage. Iran initially denied involvement, though later reports suggested Iranian forces claimed responsibility, describing the strike as retaliation for recent US actions.
The attack came despite ongoing ceasefire efforts and marked one of the most significant strikes against Kuwait during the current Iran-US conflict.
India strongly condemned the attack and mourned the loss of its citizen. Beyond the tragic death, the strike left one of Kuwait's busiest airport terminals heavily damaged.
