IPL To Restart From 17th May 2025
IPL 2025 will restart from 17th May after the India-Pakistan ceasefire, with ISH News continuing to make the matches accessible for the Deaf on JioHotstar.
Due to the recent tensions between India and Pakistan, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab and Delhi in Dharamshala was stopped halfway on 8th May. After that, for safety reasons, the BCCI had decided to suspend the IPL from 9th to 16th May. They also said that further decisions would be taken after reviewing the situation and talking with the government.
During this time, ISH News had released a video updating everyone about the situation.
Now, with India and Pakistan agreeing to a ceasefire, the BCCI has officially announced that IPL 2025 will restart on 17th May. The first match after the break will be between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and it will be held in Bangalore.
The IPL final, which was earlier scheduled for 25th May, has now been shifted to 3rd June.
Many overseas players have already gone back to their home countries during the break. The BCCI has told all teams to bring their players back and reassemble at their home grounds by 13th May.
From now, the IPL will be played across 6 venues – Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. The venue for the playoffs has not been decided yet. Also, earlier the final was planned to be held in Kolkata, but it may now be changed due to weather and rain conditions.
Just like before, IPL 2025 will continue to be accessible to the Deaf community. ISH News will provide Indian Sign Language interpretation of all the matches on JioHotstar. So, stay tuned and enjoy the matches with the same excitement!
