India Tells Pakistan: Get Out in 48 Hours, Suspends Water Treaty
India takes strong actions against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, including suspending the water treaty, cancelling visas, and asking officials to leave.
After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, people across India are very angry. ISH News had earlier shared a video about this tragic incident. If you missed it, you can watch it on our page.
Many Indians are demanding strong action against Pakistan, and it seems the Indian Government has already started taking some serious steps.
Terrorists Involved in the Attack
Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir have arrested over 1,400 people connected to different terror cases.
They have released the photos and names of the four terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack:
- Aadil Guree
- Aasif Shaikh
- Suleman Shah
- Abu Talha
Out of these, two are local Kashmiris and two are from Pakistan. The police have announced a reward of ?20 lakhs for anyone who helps catch them.
A brave local man, Syed Adil Hussain Shah, tried to stop the terrorists and was shot dead. He was the only Muslim killed in the attack. We salute his courage.
Why Did This Attack Happen?
Many believe this attack may be linked to a recent hateful comment made by Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir, who said that Hindus and Muslims are “two separate nations.” The terror group ‘The Resistance Front’ said they attacked because India is encouraging tourism in Kashmir and changing its population.
India’s Strong Actions Against Pakistan
1. Indus Water Treaty Suspended:
India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty signed with Pakistan in 1960. Under this treaty, Pakistan got control of 3 rivers (Indus, Jhelum, Chenab), even though they flow through India. Now, India has decided to stop this treaty until Pakistan ends its support to terrorism. This will seriously affect Pakistan’s water supply, especially in summer. India will now use that water for its own people and farmers.
2. Attari-Wagah Border Closed:
The Attari-Wagah border, a main legal entry point between India and Pakistan, has been closed from today. Only those who already crossed into India with valid permission can return — but they must go back before 1st May 2025.
3. SVES Visas Cancelled for Pakistanis:
India has cancelled the special SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for Pakistanis. No new SVES visas will be given to Pakistani nationals. Old ones are cancelled, and anyone already in India must leave within 48 hours.
4. Pakistani Defence Officers Asked to Leave:
India has told all Pakistani Navy and Air Force officers posted at their High Commission in New Delhi to leave within 7 days. India is also calling back its own defence officers from Pakistan. Their support staff will also be sent back.
5. Diplomat Staff Reduced:
India and Pakistan will reduce their High Commission staff from 55 people to 30 by 1st May 2025.
What’s Next?
These steps are stronger than anything India has done before — even in times of war. Will India take any military action next? That is something we will have to wait and see.
