The IPL finals were held yesterday at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad between Gujarat & Rajasthan.  The IPL 2022 closing ceremony featured performances from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, legendary musician AR Rahman and singer Neeti Mohan and many others. The stadium was jam packed with fans. The ceremony was hosted by former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Ravi Shastri.  Akshay Kumar, Amit Shah, his wife and son Jay Shah, who is Secretary of  BCCI, Sourav Ganguly, former cricket player Mohammed Azharuddin, Sadhguru, etc. were also present at the venue.

Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bat. They scored 130/9 in 20 overs. Gujarat was not a team with a list full of star players. But it's captain was Hardik Pandya who was serving IPL for the first time as a captain.  He impressed everyone with his leadership and got the best out of his teammates. Gujarat scored 133/3 in 18.1 overs and won the match. Gujarat Titans in the leadership of Hardik Pandaya and coaching of India’s bowling legend Ashish Nehra proved that you do not need famous cricketers to win IPL. You just need skilled cricketers.

The winning team Gujarat Titans got a check of ?20 crore as they were the champions. Rajasthan Royals, who finished as the runner-up, were also presented with a cheque of ?12.50 crore as the runner up. Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) who finished third got a cheque of ?7 crore while Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got ?6.5 crore for finishing in fourth position. Generally the prize money is divided equally between the players and support staff as well as the team owners. However, the exact distribution is not known.
