Meghpura-Radosan is a village in Gujarat near the India-Pakistan border. The Border Security Force (BSF) were told to observe “Blackout”. This means villagers have to switch off all the lights. The neighboring villages of Jaloya, Mavsari, Shivnagar and Eval which are extremely close to the border have also been asked to switch off their lights at night.
By road this village is 20km away from India-Pakistan border but from the dessert route, the border is only 1km away.If the lights are on the Pakistan military can easily target them. This makes it easy for the spies to enter India. The BSF has painted the helpline numbers on the walls of the villages. They have instructed the villages to report any suspicious activities.
A villager said that they switch off all the lights at night. Only the grocery store and the milk shop is allowed to keep the light on. All the villages at the border have been on high alert since the Pulwama attack.
