Deliveroo & Uber Agents Go Viral on Social Media

You might have come across various funny & weird food delivery experiences, but this must be the weirdest of them all.

You might have come across various funny, weird and some inspiring incidents while ordering food or while travelling in fleet cabs like Ola, Uber, etc. The first one is a funny incident with a food delivering app - When you order food, the time between ordering your favourite food from an app and waiting for it to arrive seems like a lot. But imagine not getting your food at all after all the waiting. Sounds annoying, right? Well, something similar happened with a guy recently.

Here's what happened. The user shared a screenshot of a conversation between a delivery agent of a food delivery app, Deliveroo, a British food delivery company. The delivery agent messaged with a "sorry". When the user asked what had happened, and why the agent said sorry, the delivery man replied, "This food is very tasty. I ate this, you can report to the Deliveroo Company."  The customer wrote back and said, "You're an awful man."  To which the delivery agent replied, "I don't care." The post grabbed the attention of people who have had a similar experience on the app and said Deliveroo will not do anything about it. While some others sympathized with the riders and wrote, "Sad but a lot of these drivers get paid less than £4 for each delivery, they have to wait 30 minutes at restaurants, then traffic and many times miss orders etc and UK don’t have the tipping mentality like USA."

The other incident is an inspiring incident from India of a fleet cab service Uber. Some people never give up and strive to work hard no matter how difficult life is. ISH News had released stories about a Zomato delivery agent who carried his children along while delivering orders. Today we bring to you another inspiring story. CloudSEK CEO Rahul Sasi shared an inspiring story posted on LinkedIn. Rahul said that his friend booked an Uber in Bengaluru for him. Unlike other rides, he noticed his driver was a woman named Nandini, who came to pick him up and also noticed a kid sleeping in the front seat . He asked Nandini if the child was her daughter. Nandini confirmed that she was and as the child was on her vacation, so she was working and babysitting together. Rahul then wrote in detail about Nandini. Nandini wanted to be an entrepreneur and had. started a food truck a few years back with all her savings. However, when Covid hit, she lost all the money invested. So, she started driving an Uber and worked 12 hours a day as she wanted to save money and rebuild everything she had lost. When the trip ended, Rahul Sasi asked if he could take a picture with her and post her story online. She asked him why he wanted a photo with her? Rahul told her, “Mam, you have a very inspiring story; while many people get disheartened after a failure, you are a fighter and continue the fight till you win. I want to share your story with others.” Later, Rahul also shared that Uber country head Prabhjeet Singh has reached out to him and offered support and appreciation for the woman. His post received thousands of views, likes and comments. While many netizens praised the hardworking woman, they also questioned the safety and wellbeing of the child.
