Delhi Shock: Pet Pit Bull Tears Off Six-Year-Old Boy’s Ear
A six-year-old boy in Delhi’s Prem Nagar was brutally attacked by a neighbour’s Pitbull, raising serious concerns about unsafe pet handling.
ISH News has often raised alarms about stray-dog attacks and the dangers of large pet dogs roaming freely in residential areas without proper control. The recent incident in Delhi shows why these warnings must be taken seriously.
A six-year-old boy in Delhi’s Prem Nagar was playing near his home when a neighbour’s pet Pitbull suddenly attacked him. The dog mauled the child so severely that it tore off his right ear and caused multiple deep bite wounds. The terrifying attack was captured on CCTV, and neighbours ran to pull the dog away and save the boy.
The child was first rushed to a local hospital and later referred to a major hospital in Delhi for urgent treatment. The police quickly registered a case under negligent-animal-handling and endangerment laws. The dog’s owner, who lives nearby, was arrested.
According to family members and neighbours, the same Pitbull had attacked other children in the area earlier, but no strict action was taken at that time.
This incident is not only about pets or stray dogs. It highlights a serious safety issue for children who play on streets or in common residential spaces. Pet-owners, housing societies, and civic authorities must rethink how dogs—especially large and powerful breeds—are managed in residential zones. Breeds like Pitbulls require responsible ownership, proper confinement, and muzzling.
Stray-control measures must also be strengthened to prevent such tragedies. When a six-year-old loses his ear while playing outside his own home, it becomes a strong warning that safety rules must change immediately.
