Cockroach Janta Party Demands Resignation of Education Minister: Holds 1st Press Conference

From a viral social media trend to a massive street protest, the Cockroach Janta Party has emerged as a youth-led movement demanding accountability and reforms in India's education system.

What began as a viral Gen-Z movement online has now stepped into the real world.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which recently grabbed attention on social media, held its first major press conference in New Delhi on 4 June.

The group introduced its spokespersons and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, blaming the government for repeated issues in exams like NEET, CUET, SSC and CBSE.

Claiming support from over 8 lakh petition signatories, CJP announced a protest at Jantar Mantar on 6 June, calling for accountability and reforms in India's education system.

Founder Abhijeet Dipke travelled from Canada to lead the protest, while activist Sonam Wangchuk extended his support, urging participants to remain peaceful and follow Gandhian principles.

On 6 June, thousands gathered at Jantar Mantar under heavy police security. Cockroach masks became the symbol of the movement—supporters said they represented how many young people feel ignored and dismissed, while critics argued they helped conceal identities.

The protest sparked debate, drew national attention, and marked CJP's transition from an online campaign to a visible youth-led movement demanding change in India's education system.
