  • No Place outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area!!

  • If you hear thunder, lightning is close enough to strike you, the first thing you should do is take shelter indoors.

  • When you hear thunder no matter how close or far, immediately move to a safe shelter, a substantial building, a metal-topped vehicle with windows up.

  • Cars are considered the safest place during the time of lightning.

  • Stay in a safe shelter at least until 30 minutes after you hear the last sound of thunder.

  • Stay away from corded phones or simply disconnect the line, computers and other electrical equipment that put you in direct contact with electricity.

  • The best advice is to plug out all the electric equipment from the electricity board.

  • Avoid areas with plumbing, including sinks, baths and other areas with pipes.

  • Stay away from windows and doors, and stay away from balconies and porches.

  • immediately get out and away from ponds, lakes and other bodies of water as water bodies attract lightning.

  • Stay away from objects that conduct electricity ( wire fences, power lines, windmills, etc.)
