Donald Trump Tests Positive for COVID-19

USA President Donald Trump and his wife test positive for COVID-19. Watch our latest video for all the details.

In the USA, more than 2, 07,000 people have died of the coronavirus and it has devastated the economy. US President Donald Trump on 2nd October announced on Twitter: “ Me and my wife have tested positive for Covid -19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” After Trump’s announcement, stock markets around the world fell and suffered major losses.

The President’s doctor said Mr. Trump was well. He did not say if he was experiencing symptoms.  He added that the president would stay isolated in the White House for now but for how long he did not mention.

President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”

Other aides to the President did not say if he was having any symptoms, but people at the White House noticed that his voice sounded hoarse on 1st October Thursday. But it is not sure if it was because of coronavirus. Mr. Trump has for months thought very lightly about the severity of the virus and on 1st Oct night, he even said that the COVID19 outbreak will end soon. Mr. Trump’s positive test result could have difficulties for the Presidential Election Campaign, which is on 3rd November.  Even if Mr. Trump is asymptomatic, he will not be able to participate in the campaigns and has to stay isolated in the White House. If he becomes sicker then there will be questions about whether he should remain in the election or not.

He would make fun of scientists’ views by saying that they were mistaken on the severity of the situation. For months Mr. Trump did not wear a mask in public except for a few occasions. He also repeatedly questioned their effectiveness of wearing masks and mocked his Presidential rival Mr. Joe Biden for wearing one. In recent weeks he held crowded campaigns where often people are jammed into tight spaces with most of them without masks. Mr. Trump is 74 years old and the age group above 65 is most vulnerable to the virus. Eight out of every 10 deaths in the US are among those 65 and older.
