In a major step towards making the internet safer and more inclusive, a special cybercrime awareness series has been launched for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community in India. This is the first time such a project has been created in the country, focusing fully on digital safety through Indian Sign Language (ISL).

This unique initiative is a joint effort by the CyberPeace Foundation and India Signing Hands, who have come together to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against cybercrime.

Today, the internet plays a big role in our daily lives — from mobile phones and banking to our homes and workplaces. But with these advancements, cybercrimes like scams, online frauds, and fake messages are also rising quickly. Sadly, the deaf and hard-of-hearing community is not safe from these threats, and they often face extra challenges in getting the right information or support.

To solve this problem, the new series will explain how cybercrimes happen, how to stay safe online, and what steps to take if someone becomes a victim. Everything will be shown in Indian Sign Language, making it easy for deaf individuals to understand. The series will also include real-life cases, ways to report online crimes, and simple tips to protect oneself in the digital world.

This project has been designed especially for the deaf community to help protect themselves, their families, and their friends from online threats. Recording of the series will begin soon, and the episodes will be released in the coming weeks.
